I'm going to be spending a week near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, whilst my OH fishes the River Severn and think I may go a little stir crazy not being able to ride, so was just wondering if anyone can recommend a centre offering pleasure rides/hacking in the area?

If you've got a car then there's Country Treks near Cleobury Mortimer, or North Farm at Ludlow. North farm is all hacking in Mortimer forest, and they tend to do a decent amount of good cantering with competent riders. Country Treks is more of a traditional trekking type set up, but offers all day hacks if that's what you are after.

Hope you have a good holiday :)

I can highly recommend Banks Farm Riding Centre... Based in Banks Farm Holiday Park in Arley a small village between Bewdley and Bridgnorth.

I ride there every weekend, lovely horses (not your typical riding school ponies) and they are based right in the Wyre Forest so you don't have to go on an roads if you don't want to.

Lovely riding through forests, meadows, fields and bridle paths ... It's £30 for 1 hour and £45 for 2 or you could do a 3 hour to include a pub lunch which is about £65 I think?

Their website isn't brilliant but I have The owners number if you'd like it?

Quite a few people do take their own horses on holiday with them there... But if you can't she has some lovely horses you can borrow :)

Yes just reading the website and book marked it as could be the perfect compromise next time my OH wants to visit the area. Thank you I knew there would be a little gem tucked away somewhere.
