recommendation of books for young horses

can anyone recommend any horsey books that cover training a young horse to lead, pick feet up, long lining, groundwork for backing etc just interested in the training that goes into a horse before starting to be ridden properly, ive seen Making the Young Horse the Rational Way on amazon is this any good?

Perhaps Harry Trotter and the Goblet of Oats? :D

Try a Phillipe Karl DVD. His approach to lunging will inspire your horse rather than bore him senseless with repetitive circles. His work on encouraging a horse to trust a bit is also excellent.

There are bits and pieces of his work on the internet if you want to explore before committing to invest in his DVDs (or better still a PK instructor).

The title made me think, do you reckon they'd appreciate The Black Stallion? Or Misty of Chincoteague? Maybe the precocious ones would get into the Lord of the Rings.
