Echo Sooty.Always use echinea if any of my lot have cough/sniffles and cuts.Easy to get too -chemist,supermarket or health food and cheap. If you are on good terms with your chemist ask him about suggested dose.My old chemist (now retired boo hoo) was brilliant at doing this for me based on average weight of horse.I alway have some at yard.

I read somewhere that echinea isnt recommended for long term use... is that true?

Perhaps I should have elaborated more on what Im wanting. My grey has 2 tiny weeny melanomas. They havent changed shape or grown in years so Im basically leaving them well alone. I have read, however, that it can be useful to feed a good, general vitamin / mineral / immune boosting supplement.

Thanks for the two replies guys! I should have elaborated more in the first place

Pro Pell plus contains Echinacea, and is an iron rich supplement too. Is brilliant stuff, really makes them feel well, and can feed on a regular basis. I think the equine america Vitabiotics has Echinacea in it too.

I see you have had a lot of recomendations ..I have found
Indian herbs equine brilliant people to deal with as they will discuss your particular needs at any time day or eve.
tel no 01249 760664 and not as expensive as Redcell.
They were recomended to me by my Vet .
The herbs are all totally natural. The woman also sent me various items of literature which was very helpfull including a couple of articles she had published.
They know what they are talking about rather than someone just selling you something because you ask for it and then that item not being suitable or even causing problems.
