As title, I'm looking to increase the amount of forage my horse gets, to top up on the hay. Any advice welcome of best type/value, and as I've never used either before any pros/cons between the two, or other alternatives to consider?

Thanks!

I have gotten nutritional analysis for chaffs like readigrass and the sugar/starch is remarkable quite high. If your looking to feed something as a partial hay replacer you will need to feed something quite low calorie/starch etc. Baileys low chaff is quite good or just a plain oat straw.

Hi, thanks, the sugar/starch isn't a problem, as I'm looking to reduce the amount of grain-based feed she gets with the grass nuts/readigrass, as she's struggled holding weight this winter. Hay goes in the field and shared by 3 horses so I can't increase that, and right now she's coming in for 2 feeds (lives out 24/7) but I'd rather she had a fibre/forage based feed. She's already getting Alpha A, sugar beet, linseed, veg oil and 2 scoops of D&H build-up mix - each feed.
She's struggled worse this winter than previous 2 with me, so also getting vet out to check bloods. Worms and teeth already checked.

I really really rate the Graze On products.. They do grass nuts, a grass chop and a really nice Oat straw & grass chop - My little mare has jaw problems and can't chew hay so she has a combinations of all 3 in various quantities depending on her weight. The grass nuts are especially good value at about £6/7 for a 20kg bag as soaked they make a huge quantity of feed
