Hi,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cavesson bridle for a TB?
Currently have a rhinegold but the quality is not good at all, even with regular care the noseband is cracking and they don't do replacement nosebands.
Would prefer one that is known to be comfortable and have a good ear clearance as my TB is sensitive around his ears. And one that is good quality and is known to last!

I've looked around online, some brands I've seen/others have posted about are Henry James, Mackey (the legend athena bridle), EcoRider (the Ecosoft Enigma Bridle) and I've seen some suggest premier equine. However I am finding I'm hitting analysis paralysis with all the options!

If anyone could recommend any they use and why i'd really appreciate it!

I had the Shires Velociti bridle for my TB. Fitted really lovely and never had any cracking etc and I rode in all weathers and to be honest never took the best care of it! Buying one again for my next TB as I loved it that much.

Ah thanks so much! Which range do you rate out of velociti? Gara, rapida, lusso?

We’ve had a few different ones, shires brides are good but we have to get cob size as full is too big for his dainty head!
currently using one from expert bits, you can order whatever size you need and basically mix and match which is perfect for a TB! Really nice bridles x

I've got a Horsemanship Saddlery one, there are various different headpieces and you can order each piece of the bridle in the size you want - my horse has cob cheek pieces and an extra full browband. The leather is beautifully soft and looks immaculate although it is our everyday bridle

Just digging up an old post!

Does anyone know which of the Shires range has the better quality of leather? I'm looking at the GARA, Lusso range with the comfort headpiece.

Does the sizing come up true to size as I have a TB with a deep jaw but a very long thin face.

I bought the velociti Lusso cavesson for my TB. I bought it in full having tried a shires cob size and it was too small. It was lovely, felt really nice leather but the nose band was absolutely massive on her, it has a crank nose band so with the pad under the chin I couldn’t even almost adjust it to fit.
It was nice but I have tried and returned so many bridles I went back to what I know and love and ordered another HJ.
Leather wise though the Lusso is really nice imo for a budget-y bridle

Thank you for your reply, that's good to hear. I'm looking at a standard, not crank fitting on the noseband so hopefully there will be room for adjusting.
