My daughter (11 years old) is doing super well in dressage with her 13.2 pony. Her current saddle is okay but not great and I am wanting to invest in a new dressage saddle.

Just not sure which one. What would you recommend? I want a saddle that will encourage the correct leg position, be comfortable for her and suit a fairly solid pony.

Had suggestions for Albion, Ideal etc but as I show jump I have no idea.

Help please - don't want to spend a fortune on the wrong thing!

I do like a Albion personally, and I use to love my Cliff Barnsby it was my first dressage saddle.
I think cheaper options are Kent & Masters and Ideal.

Depends what fits pony and daughter - I would try a few if you can.

Ha ha she isn't having one of them!

I invested in a Devoucoux jumping saddle a few years back and would never give that up - but then I am not growing anymore like she is - well not intentionally!!!

Kent & Masters?

It has the advantage of the adjustable gullet & they have great pressure testing results.

I've just bought the jump version & I'm already hankering after the dressage!

Have you looked on the BD website in the classifieds section? I noticed there were a couple of pony saddles for sale on there the other day, one of which was brand new (sorry can't remember what make), the other was a secondhand Cliff Barnsby. You might have to scroll back a few pages now to see them as things seem to get added quickly on there. Just a thought..:)

I LOVE the wow saddles! The flair panels make them SUPER comfy for the horse aswell as you! You just have to sit in one to fall in love! Also, the butet saddles are really nice, though I prefer the jumping ones to the dressage.

I have a Jeffries dressage saddle and everyone who has ridden in it really likes it. I have a friend who has an Albion and a Jeffries and she now prefers the Jeffries as she is better balanced in it but could just be personal taste. They are pretty reasonably priced too but good quality.
