Recommendations for honest, quality Irish producers please

I did recommend where I got H from but she has stopped selling! I had to send video, talk and explain my experience and what I was looking for. She was 100% honest about H and his capabilities, and the sale was effortless. He was exactly as described. She would have them for months before they were put up for sale so she really did know the horses, and she would take them out to a XC course and/or SJ venue, with many videos from start to finish.

And...

She got fed up of people not being honest about their capabilities and has stopped selling, now just doing training. I found that really sad. I only know this as I was recommending her and after a few years, she messaged to say stop as she has closed for this service. It sounded like people wanted machines not horses, with a lifetime guarantee at that!

I believe @AShetlandBitMeOnce is happy with the place she got Dex from, and they still sell. I think it may be an Adam someone.

You are right @Red-1 - I was very happy with my purchase/experience and know a couple of people that were happy with theirs but with the number of horses that go through his yard you do still have to have your eyes open :)
I also bought an unbacked, largely untouched youngster so felt more secure doing so than buying a ridden one, but that's just personal preference

It'd be worth your while talking to the Trayfords who do a viewing service across the island of Ireland. They do produce event types too themselves but on a very small scale now.

I'm in NI and people i know bought a connie off this dealer I think. He's a nice pony, quiet and sporty to ride but he had to be on his own in the pasture because he always kicked other horses. The dealer seems to put up lovely pictures and people I know know her and I haven't heard anything bad (yet).
