I need to buy asap a hind magnetic boot for my horse that is now on box rest for 2 weeks. Have seen a few on the internet but none that really stick out that being a well known brand. I need the boot to cover the fetlock and cannon bone... so maybe 2 boots???

I have a magnetic band for Daisy that I bought her when she damaged her synovial seal last year. Really handy because you can put it anywhere, not just a hind leg so you will be able to use it again if necessary.

TheresaF recommended it to me, I know that she really rates them

I got Bioflow ones (brushing boots) for my old jumping pony who was stiff in the hocks. They don't need to cover the EXACT place of the problem as they work in a general way by improving blood flow, so just putting boots on in the right general area (ie that limb) should work fine. I can recommend the Bioflow ones as being fairly robustly made, and are one of the better ones on the market I think in terms of magnet nos and strengths (they were when I looked into it anyway but that was a few years ago now). They did take a couple of weeks of wearing to work though, mine just had them on in the stable overnight.

I've just ordered some New Equine Wear ones. They're brushing boots so you can ride in them as well as use them in the box, and obviously cover fetlock and cannon bone. They have 3 magnets per boot, one more than the Bioflow I believe, although how much difference that makes I don't know!! They're about £62 a pair I believe...

DublinBay - have looked at those just a minute ago. You have noticed a difference with your horse wearing them?
donadea and KatB - Where did yu buy the New Equine Wear ones from?
Land_Girl - Am looking on ebay!!!
Thanks guys!!

We got them coz he tore his cruciate and they were recommended by a few people on here. When he was in work (for about 3 months) after his 4 months box rest we did notice a difference in the way he was moving his back end which was much better than before his problems. I think they deffo helped but we also worked on the way he carried himself so it may be a bit of both - hard to tell really.

He wears them only in the stable as they arent suitable for use whilst riding so depends on when you want to use them.

I use magnetic straps on Cairo - he had a lot of arthritic problems now as he is 22 which is a good age for a clydesdale.

He wears his straps all the time and for him they really do help.

I have just put straps on his hind legs as he now has problems behind and he has improved since wearing them. The straps are good as they are designed to be left on and do not cause heat - bit like the bands people wear.

Company is magnetic and you can buy a single strap if you only have one limb giving problems.

I use the Aerborn stable wraps at night and the NEW boots during the day so she can be turned out in them. Both are fab and 5 years down the line are still going strong

Bio flow brushing type boots are brill, or you could go for the wraps.... you dont actually need to cover the whole area though, just being on the leg will help all of it!!
