Yesterday I brought BP home from Leahurst following key hole surgery on an infected pastern joint.
It's been a very long few weeks and for a much of it we weren't sure if we'd be getting him home at all so I'm over the moon.
I was just wondering if anyone has been through something like this before and can tell me about long term prospects of theirs. Has anyone had a horse return to any kind of ridden work or even go on to make a full competitive recovery? Did they suffer from early onset arthritis that limited their life significantly?
