Mare is ok it was done during foaling, it’s bad enough to need to be stitched and vet says won’t heal on its own unfortunately ☹️

It might heal but very slowly. How close to the ureter is it tho?
The main issue is infection which I'm sure your vet is on top of.
Only had one experience of this and the mare did heal but was never put in foal again. She did have internal and external stitching.
Is your vet v well versed with this, if not then ask for referral ASAP xx

thanks TFF vet is referring to Newmarket as they do many more, mare has been on Karidox for a few weeks but there is contamination it’s been 2 1/2 weeks since foaling and vet isn’t happy with the progress. Bloody horses! Putting back in foal this year is out not than I’m too bothered just want the mare fixed and healthy!
