..... does it really do what it says on the tin and help protect the foot?

After a long and dismal abscess I would finally like to let my pony out on a paddock and hoping together with the Red Horse 'hoof stuff' in the cracks I might dare to let him out on one of the 'dryer' paddocks?

I've had really good results with the Field Paste and Sole cleanse, I'd recommend.

I was putting the paste on the other day and forgot I had a small cut on my finger... ouch.. I could feel the antibac stuff working after a minute!

Not used the field paste myself but the Sole Cleanse is excellent. I also like their Honey Heal, it's very useful for small cuts.

I've used Red Horse products for years & sworn by them, but now use Horse Leads - just as good, pretty identical products just cheaper.

It's miracle stuff. My pony had a deep hoof crack. Farrier was talking about re-secting etc - said it would never heal on its own. He gave me some putty to try but it never stayed in place.

Hoof stuff stayed on amazingly well and cleared everything up. It sets like concrete and every 3 days I'd have to scrape it out and replace it. It was always still perfectly in place despite pony being out in a muddy field. Nightmare to apply though - SO sticky when wet but once it dries it's great.

Love field paste. Have used it on everything from the barefoot cobby one to my dressage diva and have always had great results.

Would recommend Red Horse Products based on using Sole Cleanse but haven't used the Field Paste myself

Most of the products have the same basic ingredients but are all very different textures depending on what they used for. I wouldn't underestimate the value of these different consistencies.

I like Sole Paint which is liquid, to paint on as a barrier for stable kept horses that like to stand in poo.

For an abscess you are probably looking at hoof stuff or artimud depending on the size of the holes you are trying to fill.
