So my mare would be inclined to squeal and kick given half a chance as she is rather hormonal! She will be out showing in a few weeks so i will be putting a red ribbon in her tail to warn others but what about for people coming towards me?? if they got to close she is likely to swing out at them, as you are meant to pass left to left would maybe a red ribbon on my arm be sufficient to warn others to pass with plenty of room. She isnt a nasty mare, just abit hormonal and gets abit moody if they get close. Just dont want to risk not putting a red ribbon somewhere. she has never kicked out at anyone but would swing at them and sort of do a tiny buck but she has never kicked out. She is abit of a tart and stops dead if anything is to close behind, as i discovered when out hacking with friends!

Put red ribbons on each side of the reins? or on the bit/bridle?
Or just go crazy and cover her and yourself in red ribbons (each of your arms and legs, on her tail, forelock, reins, bridle.....) ;)

My old tb had issues with panicking when horses came towards her in the warm up. I put a green ribbon around her forelock plait and it seemed to make a difference - other riders kept a little more distance.
