Hi.

I think I mentioned this before. My pup has had a few little spots on her tummy and 'bits' on and off since we got her. The vet has looked at it and said was nothing to worry about. Overnight it has really come up in quite an angry looking red scaly patch on her lower belly. She's not bothered by it. Not scratching or licking it.

I have a vet appointment on Mon, but is there anything I could put on it in the meantime? I've tried savlon which didn't do anything and sudocreme which made a mess!!!!

Thankies for any ideas.

You can always give her a bath in a medicated shampoo to see if that helps. You could also give sulphur which helps to cool the blood and improve the skin. I use little homeopathic ones which you can get from any chemist, and give one or two a day (wrapped in cheese for Ben!) but only when the skin is like it is now otherwise they might get immune to it. It could be an allergy to something (Ben's is hay and straw!).

Thankyou Pat. Personally I think it's feed realted. I'm going to ask for allergy tests on Monday. I'm thinking fish/wheat but I dont know for sure. It's also flared up the wetter it's got so maybe the wet grass could have aggrivated it.

I'll try the sulphur though, thankyou xx

my girl had problems with wheat, she kept getting bald patches, you can get gluten free kibble. although your dog is barf fed is'nt it, so what is she having wheat wise.

xx

Skin problems are a complete nightmare to try and treat! Morse had a really bad red scaly rash on the inside of his thighs. He had a total of 9 weeks anti-biotics (Rilexine) and fuciderm cream. It did clear up and we never found out what is was.
Hope you sort it out.

She's had no wheat for 2 days now, so hopefully it'll calm down. getting allergy test and everything done on Mon, so I'll know for sure soon anyway.
