Red Setter - To spay or not?

Has anyone had their red setter spayed with no impact on their coat?

I had a male neutered at it knackered his coat-at the time I did quite alot of research and spoke to lots of breeders and vets, vets all told me it wouldnt affect it and breeders all told me it would. A decent groomer can really help mitigate the effects but spay coat does tend to be worse in setters than in spaniels and other breeds.

Same as MOC only experienced male red setters but it definitely knackered their coats sadly
