Reduced turnout in winter...

Ours are out 24/7 with access to lots of shelter, natural and man made.

In the summer ours are out all day (from about 5.30am) and in at night, but it the winter they go out in 2 groups in the old sand school (60 x 30) for about 4.5hrs each with lots of hay - they all seem really happy and content with this arrangement..............and no mud!!

I've searched high and low to find a yard where there is 24/7 t/o with a stable when needs arise.

B is out at night in summer (brought in at 8.30- 3.30ish) and then they swap in winter. Out at about 8-8.30 and in between 3.30 and 4.30.

She was out 24/7 last winter. Both have good and bad points really.

I can have turn out all day every day if I want it, however my two cossetted ponies have made it quite clear that they love their stables and would rather be in when the weather is grim. they do go out every day but in horrid weather it might only be for 2 or 3 hours

I turn out at 7.00am and he's brought in at 4.00. Perfect.
