Just spoke to the farmer/stud owner this morning- and sadly one of his foals broke its leg and had to be PTS

Poor guy was extremely shaken.
What utter, stupid morons.

That's dreadful! I hope he claims from them, although of course that won't bring the foal back but it might teach those neighbours something for the future. Even if they had just had the decency to tell you both and then you could have brought the animals in or something that would have helped a bit.

That is awful. Poor foal and poor owner. Why are so many people inconsiderate numbskulls these days? Will they even care when they are told what has happened I wonder?

He seemed to think that there was nothing he could do about it and no way that he could prove anything?

Your right MFH-ALL those neighbours had to do was to have simply told us the night before what they were planning to do. Would not have taken them five minutes, then at least they could have all been safely locked away indoors.

That is so sad and my thoughts are with the poor farmer and RIP little foalie.

What annoys me most is that it is a well known fact that fireworks scare all types of animals not just horses. So how could they be so thoughtless as to not even warn neighbours first that they were going to have that party? I have to say that I wouldn't be taking it too well if that had been my foal and I think I would be dragging those neighbours out of their house and into my yard see first hand the damage they had caused.....i think they need a sharp reminder of what such carelessnes can do. Makes me so angry.

They are fine at an organised licenced display on advertised dates only. They are explosives after all.

someone sent this to me and I signed it straight away. It's not stopping anyones fun but is requesting that they be licenced. So many accidents happen and animals losing their lives is appalling and makes me want to cry to be honest.

Please Try to persuade the farmer to contact RSPCA/SSPCA and your regional BHS Development Officer, get it into your local paper--make a big stink about it!!
RSPCA/SSPCA collate info without which Gov will not listen
The response to the last similar firework petition 'said there was not enough evidence to support a ban' so lets collect the evidence please.
However our new PM is on record as saying he will keep legislation under review

So please pls keep signing the petition and asking your friends to do so it has gone into the top 50 Petition the PM
I have been pushing this one since a local Border collie ran blindly away from fireworks to be killed in traffic TWO WEEKS before bonfire night
