We were all wondering exactly when slipping/aborting happened and what term meant what - so today I had my stud vet out from Rossdales (yes, it's time for the stallion to start his swabs and bloods etc, and also 5 mares to be swabbed) but before he left, I asked him the query we were all wondering and he came up with this. Reabsorbing happens before day 50-60 approximately. Slipping and Aborting are exactly the same and happens before day 320. Hope this helps.

LOL - thanks!! I asked our vet (also Rossdales) that today! He said exactly the same!

[/ QUOTE ] Thank goodness for that! Whose your stud vet - put the initials rather than naming. Presumably you are local as well then, whereabouts? PM me if you'd rather. We're on foaling duty now - first foal looks to be coming any day now.
