I presume that the DI and BD rules are quite similar regarding the registration of imported horses, so I'd be very grateful if some of you could help me. So, Ali was imported over to Ireland in early 2005 (according to his passport), but I have no competition records from when he was in Denmark. What's the procedure for registering imported horses with DI/BD? Do I need to apply in writing to DI to have Ali graded? Sorry if it's a really thick question...

I sent off my membership form and my father's membership form (as he's Ali's official owner) a while ago so that I'd have my membership number for when I was sending off Ali's registration form.

I am not sure what the procedure is in Ireland, but it would be best to ring to ring DI. They are really helpful, I am always emailing them as I keep forgetting to keep a record of our points! I think they try to find a comp record for you horse, if not then he may be graded. Best to ring DI to find out. Good luck, might see you around in the spring when us eveners due some stressaging!

I bought a 13 yo trakenhenr last year who was imported during that year. Although he didnt have any points from Germany, he would have been slapped will a load of points on him so he could only compete at GP level without either paying £50 to have him downgraded, or pay someone to asses the level he should be competing at. In england btw.
