Registering older horse?

My mare is 8 yrs old and when I bought her instead of having papers come with her, I got the oringal covering certificate. It's all been filled out with her details from when she was born along with diagram but never sent off.

Her mother is on there as ISH and it has a number after her name so I assume she is registered somewhere.

Her sire is very well bred (Amerigo Vespucci) so I'd really like to get her properly registered - can I do this with what I have?

I have looked at AES but they require both mare and stallion to be reg. with them and the mare isn't

Any ideas appreciated

I had a four year old by It's the Business and was given the covering certificate. I phoned the AES and they sent me a markings form and sample box. I had to have the form filled in by the vet at the same time as the blood samples were taken. I then had to send the blood and form to the AES lab and they tested it for paternity. It took a while, but I did then get the papers through. They were happy to register him even though his mother was unregistered, but there is obviously no details of his dam's breeding in his papers.
What society is the covering certificate for if it is AES then they should be happy to register her.
