I used to be able to get the Porcine Regumate from my vets which was obviously a lot cheaper than the equine one. ut the vet told me last year due to the new regulations I would have to have the rather expensive equine one. I know a few people whose vets are still giving them Porcine, so can anyone tell me if this is correct?

I don't know if any vets are still supplying the Porcine but the equine regumate was relaunched this year and is now little different in price - maybe slightly more expensive but not the massive difference it used to be.

Just looked on line Regumate Equine is about £132 for 1 litre and the Porcine about £120 for 1 litre so not nearly the difference it used to be.

If it is a lot more expensive at your vet ask for a prescription and buy online. Your vet must provide a presciption free of charge.

Drug rules now dictate that if a product exists for use in a species you can't use another drug not licensed in that species based on cost considerations.
It might be worth asking for a prescription because if you shop around you can buy equine regumate reasonably.
