As title, mare started on it on fri 26-4-10. Doesnt seem to be any change in her yet??

Also what would be your advice for if it doesnt work on her?

Thanks

I take it you have got the date wrong ??

If it was March then it should be pretty soon, Where was she in her cycle when you started? I loved this stuff for my mare - you couldn't really tell at first but then by Mid show season she was amazing it took all the stress away stick with it and remember to wear gloves.

Our vet reckoned it should take 3 days to a week - luckily for us it was the former as we were off to a show and the mare was having major tantrums, not to mention the likelihood that there would be a number of stallions there! Unfortunately there are a few mares that I doesn't work for...if that's the case it's worth taking her up to the vet's for an internal examination (they prefer to do this with the mare in stocks for obvious reasons!) as it might be an abnormal ovary causing the marish behaviour.

Yes sorry i did mean to put a march date! Ok well maybe its not going to work on her then, as its not altered her at all. I will give it afew more days and then ring my vet and see what she suggests.

Thanks

This is plain bo**ocks! Regumate works by stopping a mare coming into season - and it ONLY works if it is the 'coming into season' that causes bad behaviour!!

How long it takes depends ENTIRELY on what stage of cycle she is at when you start her on it! If the mare continues to behave badly when NOT in season (whether on Regumate or not!) then being in season is NOT the cause of the problem and Regumate won't help!
