Regumate v Seaweed!

So i spoke to my vet today about my mare who is only 4 and is the biggest tart. I'm worried that her hormonal tendancies are resulting in her reduced attention span and sporadic nature of actually wanting to work. She is not in any way aggressive to people or horses. The vet stated there was regumate but in her view my mare was too young to be on this. She suggested trying her on seaweed. She had heard of some good results in similar situations with the use of a seaweed supplement.

Have any of you used seaweed? What did you use it for? Did you get the results you hoped for? Have you ever heard of it being used for hormonal mares?

Ive fed seaweed to my welsh mare since I got her as a foal on and off. ive never thought about it but now you mention it she is a bit more stroppy in season when ive stopped the seaweed. Now youve got me thinking.....
