Would regumate potentially help a horse who goes through periods of extreme stress and separation anxiety but is fine the rest of the time? Have tried mare supplements and calmers but don't make any difference.

Thinking of ringing the vet to discuss the possibility of them coming out but don't want to ask a stupid question!

My friend uses ' Stroppy Mare ' not sure what the brand is, maybe D&H or Global Herbs...she uses this in preference to regumate.

When she started involving the vet inially she had to do a diary to try and identify a 'pattern' to her behaviour, this usually meant that she would jump CRs on a regular basis then one week she would go to a show and start stoping, wouldn't load, bucking and generally a b***h - her irrational behaviour was not everyday which clearly indicated coming into season caused her discomfort.

Thanks. Might start making a fiary so I know what I'm saying if I do decide to involve the vet. I've had her on Oestress for a couple of weeks now and doesn't seem to make a difference but I'll give it until the end of the pot.

Honestly, if you saw Lil's behaviour yesterday you wouldn't think she was the same horse that you came hacking with.... Lovely today though, really calm and relaxed, there's just no logic to it :(
