Does anyone know of a good yard that could take my horse for rehab?

He had his hind suspensory ligaments de-nerved in the summer and goes for his scan on Monday. All being well I'll get the all clear to start bringing him back into work. The only problem now being how dark it is!

Realistically I'll only be able to work him 3-4 times a week and even then that's only possible when the weather isn't foul, the trains are on time and work isn't mental!

So I'm thinking that the best thing to do, because I know that this bit is crucial, is to send him away to a rehab/reschooling yard where he can be worked consistently and built back up correctly.

Can anyone recommend somewhere? I'll probably send him for 3-4 months initially but it could be longer.

I'm in Heathfield but anywhere in Sussex/West Kent would be good. I'm prepared to travel him further to get the right place.

Thanks!

If you phone my local vet Bell Equine in Mereworth (nr Sevenoaks Kent) they are a very large well known practice and are always able to recommend people. They may suggest Mark Boxall at Preston Farm which is Shoreham about 10 mins from Brands Hatch. I know it isn't the most ideal location from where you are and I can't speak personally of him, but I understand they have recommended him before for Kissing Spines rehab work and many people have told me that he has a really good, quiet, calm and sympathetic manner with the horses. Don't know if that is any use to you?????

You could try Chris Caden Parker in Edenbridge Kent. My horse went there after spraining sacro-iliac joint

When I was last up at Bell Equine, there was an advert in the reception area for a rehab/therapy yard - give them a call and am sure they will give you the details . PM if you want the number

The yard that's at the same place as Cliffe Equine Vets at Harbens Farm in Laughton takes horses for rehab.
I had a look round there once, it looks fab.

This is their website http://www.heccles.co.uk/welcome/welcome.html

Its not far from you if you live in Heathfield

I'll add another recommendation for Jason Webb in Goudhurst. He's a very practical and experienced horseman, good with starting horses and problem horses. He's also into polocross.
Yes, some of what he does looks very like natural horsemanship, that is because a lot of natural horsemanship is very good. (And nothing do do with Parelli or Monty Roberts).
