Rehoming retired saddles -- WWYD?

I've written far too extensively about this on HHO, but to make a long story short, I had ridden my horse in an Orthoflex saddle, one of these reactor panel type things but an American company, for upwards of 12 years. The joints connecting panels to tree wore out and were causing too much movement in the panels. No one in the UK seems to know anything about these saddles, but I found a brave saddler willing to give repairs a go, even though he'd never seen anything like it. The problem is that he was flying blind -- it's not easy to repair something when you haven't the faintest idea how it's supposed to look when it works. He did his best, but the trouble now is that the panels don't move at all.

My dilemma now is, what on earth do I do with it? I can't in good conscience sell it, as it doesn't work like it's supposed to. I feel bad just throwing it out, and I live in a tiny house and have no storage space to speak of to keep the thing. It's currently taking up space at the yard but this isn't a good long term solution.

Any thoughts?

If you're not interested in any monetary gain, and as the saddle no longer works correctly so couldn't be used, what about offering it to a local pub if they have that kind of thing nailed to the walls?

did your saddler not give the company in america a call????

but if its a type of western saddle some pubs turn them into bar seats!!!!

Why don't you put it on a stool like they do in a pub then

a) use it to practise your position whilst watching TV or

b) pretend you are at said pub and sit on it, hold court and drink wine...perfect!!
