I am due to be taking my Reiki stage 2 soon and wondered if it is something that any of you would ever consider for your horses?or any other animals as a way of alternative healing for both pysical and emotional problems. I am not advertsing by the way

not even qualified yet, just want to know if it would be worth me going down the animal route aswell as the people route

I definitely would if I could find anyone reputable locally. I have a very ' damaged' horse and I would love someone to be able to 'reach' him and give me an insight into whats going on.

I think there are different types of people, those who rubbish anything alternative cos they have more scientific minds, those who are desperate to try anything cos traditional healing hasn't helped and those open minded enough to try something new.

I use Reiki for my horses. They love it, the old boy collapses everytime, he relaxes so much!

I much prefer the holistic modalities for my lot. (horses, cats etc, etc)I have even convinced my dad to have some Reiki atm. I think they get much more pleasure out of it and generally they end up having work done for "other areas" / "issues" than the original I asked the therapist round for.

That's the great thing about Reiki, the energy 'knows' where to go,so if there are other issues, they to will get the healing energy.

Ive done level 2 with humans and animals. If you do decide to go down the animal route I would definatly recommend it, its lovely working on animals as they just react to what you are doing so it proves you dont have to believe in reiki for it to have an effect

I know a few people that think reiki is all in your head, but after seeing their horses reaction they soon start to reconsider

My friend has used reiki on both my horses and dogs, both older horse and pony loves it, older horse will move the the area he wants it, one of the dogs will only take so much.

What is reiki? Sorry I know that's probably a really stupid question!

My instructor does it (horses and humans I think) but we've never discussed it and because I only see her every couple of months, it's not really the sort of thing that would come up in casual conversation. I found myself wondering the other day what it was actually and made a mental note to ask her. Why would you use it on a horse? Genuine question BTW!

CC Reiki is healing using the universal energies. The Reiki practicioner (sp

can't spell that) uses a series of hand positions in which they channel the universal energy. Google it, there will be a far better explanation with correct spellings and what not
