Rein length?

I’m after some curb reins for my Pelham for showing. I think I need 1/2 width but what length would you typically go do? The same as your top rein?

He is 15 hands so I am thinking a 52” at least or possibly a 54” to be on the same side as I don’t like riding with the curb rein too short?

Does this sound right?

I would get the same length as your top rein it will look odd if they are different lengths, the bottom rein should be thinner and I use laced reins on top.

Ok thanks, I’ll have a look at what length my top reins are tomorrow as I can’t remember!

Definitely both the same length, and as pvb says above, the curb rein traditionally should be the next width more narrow than the bradoon rein.
