Reins with clips on?

Am I being daft here or can you not just buy strong clips and attach them to your reins? I'm watching this thread as i'm looking to buy reins with clips too so I can change bits easily and quickly. I've just bought clip cheek pieces.

No, not daft at all - I've done this too! It took a while to work out which clips worked best with my reins, but once you've figured this out, all works well. Search for trigger clips and parrot clips to work out which you prefer.

Brightbay, i've just found the Zilco clips on ebay that look ideal! I wondered if I could do the same to convert my cheek pieces to have clips for attaching the bit but thought it might make my cheekpieces too long. Suppose it would be try it and see. I'll buy 2 and see what like.

I did this once.... also did it with a breastplate that had buckles to the D-rings. I think those clips came off some old dog leads! :eek: We tend to save clips off ropes, leads etc, they always come in handy
