Relaquine shelf life

Want to turn out today after1 a weeks box rest. As horse is new to me not sure how he will react unless sedated.

I thought i had some sedalin but only got Relaquine which I used on Bailey in April 2020.

Will it be ok to use still, as in safe?

Looked on the syringe and no date and box long since discarded.

Won't be dangerous to use wiil it? Just maybe not as effective?

Its ok, waiting for a call back from the vet just to make sure its ok to still use as 2 yrs old i think.

A friend who is a medical doctor told me years ago that with out of date medicines, the worst that will happen is it will be ineffective.....I use a lot of horse (and human!) drugs past their date provided they’ve been stored suitably. I think your chances of success will be better if it’s unopened too.

Oops worked a bit too well, horse was quite sedated. I waited for a call back from the vet but gave up in the end.

Will give half that tomorrow, he's a lightweight by the looks of things lol

How much did you give him ?

I gave him 2 1/2 twirls which is probably about right for something around 650kg but as he's new to me I had no idea what was his preferred dosage. Previous boy was 700kg and used to have 3 twirls. Sunday I gave him 2 twirls and he was better.

Vet never called me back which was disappointing. The practice is really going downhill, I am thinking of leaving them and moving over to a new practice like so many of the people on the yard have already done.
