Relocating to Nottingham!

Hi all,

I am relocating from the sleepy Cotswolds to Nottingham with work and happily taking pony with me! Recommendations of horsey shops, places and new people would be ace! Will be based close to ravenshead!

There is a strong network of horse owners in the south on Facebook - is this the same for the East Midlands? Be great to know where to look!

My mum and dad used to live in Ravenshead and I was born and raised near by. There's a lovely tack shop there called Hoofaloof, and the local hacking is great due to the huge amount of forestry in the area. Also a number of good livery yards so I think you'll be fine.

Ravenshead is in the centre of NE Nottingham Horse country. Plenty of yards around Ravenshead, Newstead, Papplewick, Mansfield, Calverton, Woodborough, Lambley, Blidworth, Bestwood etc to suit all budgets and requirements.

Plenty of bridleways, forestry commission woodland, country park hacking locally and local shows/clinics/hunting etc.

Hoofaloof and Martin's of Calverton are the local tack shops and Decathlon nearby off Junction 26 (M1).

We're a friendly bunch here. If you need to know more, pop along to the East Midlands Region forum - there's a couple of us nearby :D.

Thanks all :) I am so excited! I am going to be at blidworth equestrian (my others halfs mum is kindly taking us as a livery). She has extensive local knowledge so i am sure she will show me the ropes but always nice to know what is on around and about! I am sure we will settle in very quickly!

I am in calverton not far from ravenshead, is fantastic hacking around all the forestry and a lovely horsey community, hoofaloof is probably your nearest shop xx
 
Theres Old Mill Animal feeds too. If you're on facebook, search Horse Owners, Blidworth for local horsey people and knowledge. Blid Equestrian has its own RC too, but theres also Blidworth and District RC which is a short hack away.
