Just need to get this off my chest really. My wee horse had laminitis last summer and was found to have EMS. She lost all the weight she needed to to get over the EMS but she's never been 100% sound. Since July last year she's been on limited turnout and soaked hay and the rest of the time in the stable with the radio on and a mirror for company. She's really bright, happy and cheeky so no worries there. Vet phoned for a chat the other night. He's not happy with the way things are going and after more xrays yesterday has decided that the hoof needs to be taken right back in order for it to get better or things will only get worse. I am absolutely terrified that things will go wrong or make things worse.

I suppose this is when you really have to put all your trust in your vet and I really do trust him. He's a good guy.

No point in this post. Just really worried - thanks for reading x

It can be tough to be so dependant on a professional, you have my sympathy! Is the vet an expert on hooves? Most ime aren't. If not it may be better to seek guidance from a very experienced farrier or trimmer? Hope it goes well, whatever you decide (and it is YOUR decision :)).
