I thought this was quite good and worth a share.

''Remember me, though I know that you won't
I'm the pup that you bred, I'm the soul that you owned

Remember my mum, though you'll just get confused
She's the bitch that you broke, she's the womb that you used

Remember the vet that you didn't call
When the blood ran so dark in our cold dank stall

Remember how cruelly you kicked me away
When I dared lick your hand - I just wanted to play

Remember the age that you wrenched me from mum
With my hold on life fragile and my weaning not done

Remember the home that you didn't check
That kept me outside with a chain round my neck

You'll remember the blood money you exchanged for my life
You'll remember the goodies it bought you and the wife

Now imagine my fate and cringe with your shame
See my sad lifeless eyes and my skeletal frame

I've known neglect and abuse I feared never would end
When Death came for your pup, it came as a friend

There are thousands just like me in the yard, street and pound
And whilst bad breeders breed this grim cycle goes round

You failed in your duty though I was born at your will
Now I'm your fatal shadow that walks by you still

I hope, my cruel breeder, that your guilt's worth your gain
You filled your car with my fear, bought your beer with my pain

But no act goes unnoticed and no sin goes unpaid
You'll account for my life at the end of your days

I'll be right there beside you when at your Reckoning you stand
You'll remember me then - it's my blood on your hands''

I feel like posting this poem on every lamppost in my neighbourhood, lots of moronic dog breeders round there, not sure how well they can read but hopefully well enough

My friend told me yesterday ive wasted my money on a dog that I cant get nothing back from. They stated there is no point paying out all that money to not breed from it. Apparently my dog feels less of a man with no ballies and he will be useless looking after me. There 18 month old A. Bulldog is currently pregnant for the second time and pups will go to the first highest bidders. I got my boy for love he dont owe me nothing I dont know if people are just ignorant, stupid or just money hungry. I had to buy there dog a tag as they wasnt aware of the law, poor bitch wont have the right conditions to have her pups either. I dont think I can sit back this time and do nothing. Dad is a rottie no h/c tests do

Couldnt read it all its just too sad and reminds me so much of those other little puppies belonging to Eriskayowner.

Wow, how did we get from Eriskayowner from keeping her pups outdoors to her:
Remember how cruelly you kicked me away
When I dared lick your hand - I just wanted to play

Oh my goodness, that is the saddest thing i have ever read.

I wish the people who breed without thinking would be made to read it.

I can't stop crying :(

Yes, I've read it. Only because Lizzie sent me the link. I wouldn't have done otherwise as I'm not coming into this section of the forum anymore.

Yes, this was blatantly aimed at me.

I love my dog and her puppies. The puppies are staying in at nights for the next few nights (as they did last night).
They were wormed this morning, with the medication recommended by my vet.
They had their nails clipped this morning as, I believe, is supposed to be done at 2 weeks.

What exactly else am I supposed to be doing?

They are all much loved and wanted puppies with fantastic homes lined up. Yes, I can now secure the futures for all of them if their circumstances change as I'm moving back to my house rather than renting a property.

Go ahead and build them a cosy straw kennel..then show us all. Then we`ll all be happy..Amber and puppies too.:) Not for one minute thinking yopu are uncaring..just a bit ignorant..but that is`nt a crime as long as good advice is taken on board.

It wasnt actually aimed at you at all, its doing the rounds on FB and I cross posted, interesting both you and your friend thought it was though!

other people have been suggesting it was aimed at Eriskayowner...

Well if the cap fits and all that.

Have you noticed how many viewings your friends posts has had, it wont have done her credability much good would it.? or yours as you also didnt have a problem with the way the puppies were being kept.

well, i will hold my hands up and say i know very little about dog breeding. i was sticking up for a friend. all that matters to me is the health of the puppies- they are all fine and healthy so im happy

whose eriskay owner?

My mum the other day said to me 'you should breed from the dog before you get his neutered'
my reply 'err why?'
she said 'because hes such a nice dog'

He is a rough collie type with unknown parentage that I picked up in Ireland from a rescue centre. Needless to say she had a very long lecture about the importance of responsible breeding :)

There was a woman who asked my mother if I would be willing to breed Loki with her Dalmatian before I had him neutered. Mom knew I'd say not a chance, so didn't even mention it until after his op. Nicely spotted or not, Loki was never breeding material, and I never would have allowed him to be involved in the breeding of a litter just because she fancied the idea of pups from her non-papered bitch. We owned show Dalmatians when I was a kid, and one thing I learned early on was that you don't just breed because you can. Our dogs had their CH before they were bred, and were proven in the ring. Loki is just a pet!

I am so glad that my girl who was subject to the abuse and neglect mentioned is here now, being loved and spoilt in a lovely warm home with a comfy bed and far too many toys!!
Very sad, but also very true :(
