Maesfen
Extremely Old Nag!
I've just had Sasha back home so I can wean the colt now known as Toby (long story, don't ask!) later then she will return to her new owner while he stays here - for the time being at least! He's by Ambrey Chester, is a smidgeon under 12 hands now at four months old (Sasha is 14.1!) so I think he'll be a bit bigger than her. She is in foal again to the owner's own coloured stallion so I'm going to be weaning him in the next couple of weeks so she can get back her weight; he's taken a lot out of her in spite of top class nosh and plenty of it; it's just the way she always is when she's feeding a foal but it hasn't stopped us trying everything to get her to improve, hence the reasoning behind weaning earlier than I would like normally.
New born -
Now! -
Going into the big field with the others just over the hedge. Plan is to put the yearlings in with them in a few days so they get to make buddies and then wean shortly; that's the plan, just hope it all goes to plan! -
