Just areminder to people about road manners. I know the majority are polite and say their thank yous on the roads, but there are some out there who don't.

Literally 10 minutes ago, I was cycling home from a friends, about to turn into my road (which is a dead end at the end) and a girl on her horse was on the corner. Horse saw bike, head went up and it started being silly. I pulled over to the side, stopped and asked the girl if she wanted to go past me. she turned round, gave me a dirty look and told me not to tell her what to do!

So much for being considerate. I looked at her, horse still being silly, and said if she wants people to stop for her then her manners should improve!

Atleast she was wearing reflectives.

ETD because I can't spell 'remember'

There's no helping some people, is there. I bet if you had sped past she'd have given you a mouthful of abuse for that!

I can't bear people who don't say thank you in situations like that - they might just make it bad for the next rider.

Well I was riding my horse down the road and leading my wee doggy on the inside on the lead, and i was giving way to cars, and they were thanking me!!!
How b *****y inconsiderate, not one of them thought they might just pull over a little and give way to me!!
Quiet country lane but quite a bit of traffic at 3pm, must have had to give way ( stand in a passing place or driveway for about 10 different cars, transits and small lorries.
I am disgusted.
I would have given way had I been a driver

I expect the poor girl you attempted to help was having a particularly worrying time on her horse, and probably didn't wish to appear rude but was preoccupied with controlling her horse, so was a bit short with you.

Don't take it to heart or assume she meant anything nasty, we need intelligent road users like you, they are few and far between.
