Ok, here is the answer you wanted
You are doing EXACTLY the right thing. Keep "getting in and out of your 4 year olds mouth" for "jogging off", it's obviously working really well as you are no longer having the issue.
Don't worry about getting an instructor or any help, or a second opinion. You know what you are doing is right.
