I see a lot of people recommending removing partions for troublesome travellers. I have widened mine which did improve things but he dances around like Michael bloody Flatterley! And gets into an unbelievable tizz. So I've thought ab Removing them altogether but what about the ramp? I'm not comfortable for there to be nothing between him and the ramp, what if he was to lean on it??

So what have others done? Nothing between ramp and horse? Or any suggestions on how to settle him (he's 6 years old)

I took the partition out but got a bar made, like the ones on trailers. Which fastens inside the ramp.
It protects the ramp and means horse is secured with ramp down and makes it easy to tack up inside

The partition in my 3.5 was also a roll bar. It might be prudent to ask the fabricator if there are safety implications in the event of an accident if you remove the partition. These small lorries/van conversions are generally made of light-weight materials to maximise the payload. They are also designed to have the horses standing over the axles. How would it drive if your horse decided to stand between the axles? Also, would your insurers view it as an undeclared modification and refuse to pay out?
