I stupidly put my lovely new mark todd travel boots back in their bag damp after a trip to the beach. The leather reinforced bits at the bottom have now got a lovely white mould on them! :( Iv put them in machine at 30 & they have cleaned up well but I can still see the white mould! I wouldn't use mould/limescale remover as they mostly contain bleach! Has anyone got any tips to try at home- not sure if a hotter wash might sort it!?!

Tea tree oil kills mould really well and it shouldn't mark the boots (may be best to put it on the whole leather section in case it alters the colour slightly and so you don't get patches). Just rub it into the leather really well and then leave it for a several hours to give it chance to kill the mould. Afterwards clean it with some saddle soap (or whatever tack cleaner) and then wipe it over with a damp clean cloth. To be 100% sure its gone put it somewhere dark and shine a torch on it. You will see white spots/patches if the mould is still there. Hopefully you won't and this clears it up!
