Removing Ticks

found a tick on tia today whilst grooming her - definitely wasn't there yesterday. YUCK. How on earth do I remove the horrible little blighter?

go to a pet shop and you can buy a little gadget that hooks onto them and twist.... voila

so simple and easy and no touching of the horrible little blighters

cover with vassoline (sp) and wait about a miniute and they drop off, cant breathe through the vass!!!!

If its big enough to get hold of then twist it anti clockwise. The tiny ones aboutthe size of a pin head you can pick off with a fingernail, any bigger and they leave their legs in.
Sorry to hijack but Barrier healthcare have a tick control spray/lotion. Has anyone used it? Is it any good?

UIf you buy a tick fork, put vaseline over them, the wait baout 15-20mins (maybe longer if they are bigger) and then use the fork to twist em off!

Grasp with fingers if large enough and twist ANTICLOCKWISE. Goodness only knows why, but it only works on this direction!

Soak cotton wool with methylated spirit and hold over tick for 15 seconds, then grasp tick with tweezers and twist out. The meths stuns them I think!

they breath through their bodies that is why they fall off with Vasoline etc, they are suffocated when smotherd
