Hi everyone, i'm new to this so i could really do with some horsey advice!

I am thinking about getting a 3.5t renault master or movano van and having it converted to carry my young horse. Dad is quite handy so I was thinking of making it it just for one horse and having a ramp and windows and see through cab built by a professional, and getting dad to do the rest

I have researched all about the weight, and I am happy with that. I wanted to know if anyone has one of these vans and how they find it with a similar size horse. When I have called companies that sell these boxes some say 16.2 and some say 16.

I would ideally like to get a luton but it starts to bump the price up so much, and finding an older master luton is proving very hard, whereas I could afford to get a newer van, plus conversion is cheaper!

So getting to the point - will a 16.1 TB type horse travel comfortabley in a high top renault master van?

Thanks for any advice!

My friend has a Marlborough sport and my 16.1 tb travels very comfortably in it. There isn't masses of head room so if your horse has a natural high head carriage then it may be a bit tight, but length and width were fine.

She has an older version of this Renault master

You need min 7' headroom and 7'6" is preferable look at internal dimensions of an ifor williams trailer to compare as they are a good standard.

Just a quick word of warning please please please get a weight certificate before you buy one. We bought one a few months back and took the sellers word for how much it weighed. Luckily we weighed it and it weighed over half a tonne more than they stated. So could only carry one fairly light weight horse. We are now having trouble getting our money back.....

Ok, Thanks for the advice.

I think maybe i need to rent one to see how she would travel.

Its just so difficult to imagine a 16h horse in a van :S
