I was just wondering, my horse damaged her ligaments badly in one of her hind legs and the insurance company paid for the vet treatment. I am going to be renewing the policy next month and I was wondering if next time the policy would exclude ligaments or would it just be a much higher premium?
Thanks

Probably both!!!! They will definatley exclude the ligaments and still prob put your premium up!!

If she damaged her leg again, because they did not think she had damaged her ligaments this time, and she had to go in for tests would they refuse to pay incase it was ligaments again?

it wouls probably depend on the individial insurance company for your last question.

but yes they are likely to exclude that leg again.(the whole leg rather than just ligaments!)

your best speaking to your insurance company to confirm though.

think they will just exclude her back end. my mare was in accident years ago (long before i got her!) and now has slightly bendy back legs! they dont affect her in slightest she has had foal with no problems.its not genetic and the vets advise that its just the muscles have been built back up wrong after accident. when i first applied for insurance was informed that i would not be covered for either back legs, front legs shoulders and hips!! they kept sending letters so phoned again said not worth it if only covered for her head!, nice woman went through everythin again and has come back that just her back legs would be excluded!possible may be able to include them in the future provided i dont have any accidents in the mean time!!
