I would expect to pay about £3500 a month minimum - depending exactly on where you mean by south.
just seen - you said Surrey - then def £3500 minimum. I paid £1700 for a 4 bed house in Devon - with 10 acres - 2 stables and no other facilities except 700 acres of private estate to ride around and an arena that was unusable.

£3k per month? Sounds lovely, but I don't know much about prices. We rent here, a bungalow with large garden and thats £700!! (its old and dated too!!)

Oh it will be much more then!
Ive been looking more south than that and have been finding smaller places (not acreage wise but stable wise) between £1500 upto £2500pcm.

It sounds like one i found online yesterday and that was on for £3500pcm with more stables if reqired

Ermmm £4000 a month a least I was thinking before I read the replies :S
My dad rented a house before he brought in Ferring in West Sussex it was 5 bedroom with big garden swimming pool and 2 acres and that was £1800

Goodness you lucky lucky creature. I think I speak for all forum members when I say - VERY VERY JEALOUS!!!!

Haha, snap their hands off and have a wonderful time in your new - very luxury - pad! How wonderful!

Is the catch just that it is /only/ for a year (as in you know you'll have to move afterwards)? That isn;t much more than I pay ofr a one-bed flat without even a window box!
