Hi,

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement little silver keeper that goes on the noseband chin strap of a Myler combination bit please? There are two of them - or should be, I now only have one!

In the instructions it says to be careful when you undo the chinstrap that the little keeper doesn't drop off...so guess what happened to me the first time I used the darned thing?! Fell 'somewhere' into my mare's lovely deep litter bed, and I can't find it for love nor money. :D

Have considered getting hold of a metal detector from somewhere, but I think the keeper is made of stainless steel, and I'm not sure if that is 'detectable' or not with a standard detector?!

Many thanks,

Melanie.

I lost my strap and used a leather strap off a spur instead, it wasnt identical but worked a treat and have been iusing it for a few years now.

Sorry, I think I have caused some confusion here! :o

It's not the actual strap I have lost, but one of the little silver 'keepers' that hold the 2 layers of the chin strap neatly together when it's done up.

They don't actual prevent the bit from working in any way if they are not there. It's just that this is a nearly new bit, I still have the tags and have only tried in my mare's mouth once - it was too strong for her so I want to sell it, but it's obviously a shame if one of the silver (stainless steel?) keepers is missing!

Thank you for taking the time to reply though! :)

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there's somewhere I can buy the little silver keepers? As they fall off so easily I can't be the only person to have lost one...?!

Thanks,

Melanie.
