How often do you replace your hat??

I've had two falls where I've hit the back of my head on the ground - both times been fine but wearing the same hat (last time was yesterday - I clonked it quite hard on the ground but it was a softish field)

Guess I need to get a new one now!

Yes. You should really have replaced it after the first fall. Hats should be replaced whenever they suffer an impact. Even though they may look undamaged, the inside can be weakened or damaged, so they may offer a lot less or even no real protection at all.

They should also be replaced every 3-4 years as a matter of course (same with body protectors) because the protection they offer diminishes over time as the padding, etc degrades.

It's not worth risking your health (or life).

Def get a new hat!! You can't replace your head as easily!! You really should replace it after any fall - just because you don't recall knocking your head, it doesn't mean you didn't. As night-mare said, you can't see the damage done to the shock absorption in your hat. Although hats are expensive, you just can't put a price on protecting your brain.
Hat shopping for you now!
