Am a bit scared to know the answer to this question but has anyone had the brakes replaced on their trailer and how much did it cost?

My dad is a mechanic and said he would look at it while I had a year or so away from riding but he is so busy he just hasn't had the time. Now i'm bringing my mare back into work slowly and am just thinking of all the things I would like to do with her over the summer before I move away in the autumn and am thinking I should bite the bullet and pay someone else to do the work just so he has one less thing on his list!

Is it just the brake shoes that require replacing or whole or part of the braking system?
I would have the whole braking system checked out, as well as the tow hitch and wheel bearings at the same time by someone that specialises in trailers.
Ask the manufacturers who the local distributors are as they will know who can thoroughly service it.
