You know the things I mean - the pin that secures your breast bar etc with the round end that snaps down.

Can you buy them? If so where and how much?
Do they have a proper name - suspect 'snappy thing' probably isn't technically correct.

My trailer is a Richardson-Rice but assume these pin wotsits are pretty universal?

I would try a local tractor/agricultural dealer. We have Websters round here and I am sure that they sell things like that!! Or maybe DIY shops? Trying to think of a technical name - but "snappy thing" just sounds sooo right!! x

Very descriptive - especially when they snap shut on your finger nail!

Oh if you mean the bit that holds the breast plate to the metal bit don't tell but we nicked a pin of a fire extinguisher, held on with a strong rubber band, it works brilliantly.

"we nicked a pin off a fire extinguisher"

LOL!!
I know that crime isn't supposed to pay but sometimes it does reap rewards.
Love it.

Either a trailer dealership or a boat chandlers, they have loads in stock - obviously sailers lose them more than us horsey folk!
