had a thanks and well said from one of the delegates who said we should keep on doing what we are doing as it is getting to be a joke but their hands are tied because of their position and have we noticed the doping scandal from Vegas? Apparently there was a positive test that the FEI have lost or something. i am sure HHO'ers will be able to find out all the details!!
And my email to Princess Haya has bounced i hope because of the weight of stuff being sent by you guys. i will resend.

I assume you mean Air Jordan Z's testing positive in Vegas? There is a note on this in today's H&H.

Another shocking thing is that apparently 3 months is the shortest suspenssion period but AT got 2 becasue "[she] really cares for her horses".

that is probably it i cant get the actual magazine here and i suppose AT was demonstrating that care when she set up her lame horse for the last? I suppose whoever was caught doping their horse in vegas cared enough for it, that they didnt want it too be in pain when it competed......

I thought it was just adding to the ridcule of the whole decision - she didn't even get the minimum suspension!

Air Jordan Z case: " Show jumper Air Jordan Z, ridden by Daniel Deusser of germany, tested positive for the banned substance reserpine after finishing second in the World Cup final in Las VEgas in April. Reseprine is a human anti-psychotic drug that can be used to produce a calming effect in equines [...]. An FEI spokesman told H&H: " We have scientific proof that there was a prohibited substance in the sample, but we cannot prosecute the case as the procedures surrounding the testing didn't work".

They then mention that the they cannot prove that the samples were legally positive and that it is rumoured there were problems with seals on the sample bags (not confirmed).

Fantastic so as well as messing up the AT case they have managed to in someway compromise the samples taken from the german showjumper! One might think after previous german dope offences that a little more care might be taken. i am just gobsmacked at the inefficiency. So thiis means the horse was doped, they know it happened, the sample was positive but the connections will get away with it because of a mess up in roceedure??!!! Horse sport is in trouble i fear.

I am disgusted and saddened by the FEI bending the abuse rules for AT. A rule book is there to be upheld whoever the offender is.

I am also curious if the footage the tribunal "observed" (and I take the term observed lightly) consisted of only the lat couple of minutes of the round. Or if the WHOLE round from start box to finish line was seen. Particularly as LS was clearly struggling from 5 fences out and AT used her whip with great frequency between the 5th last and the finish.

how were the abuse rules bent? The rules say that to ride a lame or injured horse is abuse. And that to act in a way that causes pain or unnecessary discomfort to a horse is abuse. She rode a lame/injured horse, and she acted in a way that caused pain to the horse; therefore she WAS found guilty of abuse. How does that constitute "bending the abuse rules?"
