Today we took my horse to his 2nd ever dressage comp. One of the classes was a championship class which he qualified for at his first outing!
Due to problems with my back I have asked my friend/instr to ride at his first few events. She rides very nicely and did a super job today with him.
We came 2nd out of 30 odd horses in prelim13 and then 3rd out of 25 horses in the championship class prelim 17. One of the judges gave her 71% in the championship test, she also whispered in her ear that she had him down as the winner of the class.
So considering my boy has not been out more than twice and a lot of the horses we competed against also do novice and affiliated stuff I think this was a brilliant result.
He thought the prize giving was quite exciting and definitely the most fun part of his day!!
