This was our 3rd ever show, and probably one of the biggest ones around here that happens once a year! my TB has just turned 5 and we still have along way to go but shes improving all the time :) shes really good at home but anywhere different shes the complete opposite!
Well, the normal chilled out one couldn't contain herself, soon as she got out the trailer she was eyes on stalks! i was very flustered as we arrived at 845 and my dressage time was at 9.07!! flustering about i managed to twist all my bridle! got to the warm up which was just a huge downhill field :o cue weeeeeee lets go bucking!! managed to contain her and she settled after a few mins. Although i learnt my test i wanted a caller, but my friend was preoccupied with her horse and couldn't call for me :( 5 mins before the test i found a lovely lady who called for me, fixed my collar (i didnt notice it was inside out!) and sorted out my bridle and managed to tell me to breathe and relax!!
We got into the walk and trot and she was really stressy and kept tossing her head about - i can safely say it felt awful!!
Next came the prelim, again she got really strong and when i asked for canter she did 3 HUGE bucks and tanked around the arena :(
Not our best! again she was just too excited!
Despite her being a bag we managed 3rd place and £10 prize money in the walk and trot with 56%, not our best score but was pleased to get placed - standard must have been low as there where 13 in the class? and not surprisingly we got a low 47.85 in the prelim and got didly squatt :)
So next was the jumping - well the warm up was a rearing festival oh and a broncing one too! didnt help that i had left my martingale at home. Warm up area was tiny and lots of people and horses about, mare could not contain herself and kept throwing HUGE bucks and rears. I dismounted and led her out twice as wasnt feeling so brave on top of a 16.2hh TB with lots of energy and attitude to boot! however i wasnt going to let this stop me so feeling brave i let her go over the practise jump a few times and she jumped really well, although she left me behind on occasion as she took off far to soon!
We started getting into the swing of things in the practise area and next thing it was our turn. Circled her round and attempted the first jump which she refused - i knew it was me having a confidence crisis, again she refused, so i got my act together and she jumped it then, was heading for the 2nd jump and she was going to do it but alas we where eliminated :( :( i always thought it was 3 refusals?? gutted because by then i was feeling really confident :(
Ahh well, so we packed up and went home :)

I dont think we are quite ready for the biggy shows yet! got a few local ones to go to in the next few weeks, trying to get her out and about as much as possible :)

aww well done with the 3rd thats really good especially with all your trouble! dont worry about the jumping at least you did yor best and mybe next time your mare will be abit calmer you could get some on the day calmer stuff for her

Thank you :) am planning to take her to a local show on sunday and do some jumping there :) i think the other show was just too much!
