Anyway the coloured (Kit) was fab, she's only seven and a total sweetheart and 99.9% bombproof, but very inexperienced having had a novice owner for a year. There's not much steering or stopping without using the reins, and legs are only for going faster! She was so lovely though, very polite until we turned for home (not literally turned around but she knows it's the half-way point) and she took the bit and tried to peg it! She sulked when I wouldn't let her, then we had a canter - again she tried to run off but was surprised when I didn't react. Brakes from canter to trot are fine, which is a relief (I think she was tired, she's not very fit and is a little bit roundy!).
We then made a "proper" turn towards home and she lept and plunged and was generally a bit of a cowbag, and again sulked when I wouldn't let her tank off - she very nearly had me though! Cue more sulking and we plodded home fine. I absolutely LOVE her though, I really must get riding her more as I think she'd be fantastic out hunting so I need to persuade my friend!
The Wow - it is very different, but I do like it a lot. Not quite as sure about it as a jump saddle but I bet it'd be fantastic as a dressage saddle. I really got on with the narrow seat bit, it draped my leg exactly right around Kit's sides (which is something I've always had a huge issue with).
Comfort-wise it was very nice, although if that were it's only selling point I'd go for a "normal", cheaper saddle. I certainly didn't feel perched on top though, I felt totally secure and glued in. I couldn't decide whether I had issues with trot because of the horse or the saddle, probably the horse as she has a bit of a sewing machine trot! I found it difficult to sit properly, and even more difficult to rise.
I'm sure I'd get used to it though and have managed to persuade my mum that when I buy horsey number three, I'll be needing to sell my two Wintecs and get one Wow instead!
