For slowing right down next to me and friend hacking quietly through the village and then, once alongside us, gunning his engine and screeching his tyres. The boys cr*pped themselves but were extremely good and didn't spook into the road, just shot forward.
He and his ugly chavvy mates thought he was really hilarious.
Police very sympathetic and will try to track him down to offer 'words of advice' and have said they will prosecute if I want to take it further.
If anything comes of it, I will update the forum.

You were lucky. I had an oik in the passenger seat think it was really funny to scream at my horse through the window while 3 cars were passing us. Luckily she just shot forward and didn't veer into the road or turn her quarters. I reported it to the police - guess what? No known keeper for the car. What a surprise - not.

good on you!!! i carry a schooling whip for these occasions, if you wack there cars then they get a fright and slow down nothing is more valuable than a chavved up saxo/corsa/106 don't you know!

I should have reported someoe the otherday he was reving his engine behind me and a friend , beeping his horn and literally driving on my horses tail, she can kick out so was worried she would injure herself I was so tempted to boot his car as he wheel spinned off past us, horse was unfased thank god

Blood boiling, nostrils flaring ... I'll calm down in a moment.:mad::mad:

Why are some people such ar*eholes.:mad::mad:

Thank goodness for all the times we manage to stay intact. :)

I had a run in with a chav girl racer once. I was on my own at the time with my mare, and she came screeching along a known bridleway/footpath/byway at full pelt. She was going so fast she nearly lost control of her chavmobile into us! I was furious and I told her to slow down and all I got was a mouthful of abuse. I reported her to the police, but they couldn't do anything because I was on my own and had no witnesses. I wish driving instructors would teach people about horse awareness when they learn to drive :(

Hey here's a thought... (Lawyer moment here!).

I hadn't thought of this before but if you report the incident with emphasis on how threatened you felt - rather than danger to traffic or danger to the horse - then you turn the crime into harassment which would, sadly, be taken more seriously. I know this is the recent BHS advice on dog attacks but I don't see why it shouldn't work for this as well.

I too carry a schooling whip for whacking purposes (cars not horses!) but I hadn't actually thought of trying to report it before.

Well done Flicker - let us know how it goes!

I am deeply offended at you calling people names and going to report you to admin as it's against forum policy, maybe you should look at your own faults before having a go at others, live and let live I have been told this week on here when I complained about a van of disadvantaged individuals causing me problems when riding on the road, also your moaning, which isn't allowed on here either Apparently.
